When both the eyes do not focus together, it is known as squint or crossed eyes. With one eye focusing on the object and the other eye there can be double vision or lazy eye that can cause reading difficulties or cosmetic issues for the patient.

Squint surgery is not just cosmetic surgery. This concept is misunderstood by a lot of doctors too. Squint surgery reestablishes Binocularity, Stereoacuity, Depth of Perception, Visual Acuity, Amblyopia reversal and improves Visual Contact, Reading Abilities and Freedom from Ocular Fatigue for the patient.

Surgery is done under Local or General Anesthesia and is not painful at all

I offer the latest type of Squint Surgery done with Minimal Incision and Fornix Based Absorbable Suture surgery which does not cause any external scarring

In many case Squint may be a sign of Large glass power(refractive error), deep amblyopia(lazy eye), cataract, corneal opacity or Retinal pathology. So complete Eye examination is mandatory to prevent irreversible vision loss.

If your child is born below 32 weeks or less than 2kg birth weight or has had any birth complications first eye checkup is mandatory in the 1st month of life.
If Uneventful perinatal period, make sure 1st eye checkup is done within the first 3 months of an eye.

Any birth infections, trauma, metabolic diseases, the genetic disease can give rise to cataracts or clouding of lens seen as a white reflex in the eyes of children. Sometime the cause may be idiopathic. Any cataract in children requires urgent surgery to prevent irreversible loss of vision in the child.

You can ask the child to close each eye separately and read from a distance. Squeezing of eyes, watering of eyes, tilting of the head to read may be signs of refractive errors.

Age is no bar for the correction. Squint is best corrected till 8 years of age but cosmetic benefits can be gained at any age.

Squint causes irreversible vision loss and damage to the self-esteem of the patient. In today’s world, it also is a hindrance in marriages and in your career growth. So such an entity cannot be lucky to you!
